Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
This is the ironic reality of our social life. Everyone is upset in their turmoil. Everyone is surrounded by their selfishness and their ego.
In such a situation, who should take the risk of thinking on points of cultural, social and national importance?
The festival of zeal and enthusiasm with the victory of justice over injustice, the victory of truth over falsehood and the victory of virtue over malpractice.
Today, when we burn the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad standing laughing, then a resolution is born in the mind, a resolution that can fight against malpractice, injustice.
Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
But as soon as the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Meghnad get burnt in a short time, similarly, the resolutions raised in our mind are broken in some time like cremation ground. And we go back to our old ways.
If this was not the case, then monstrous tendencies like Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Meghnad, injustice, incest, corruption would have been seen to reduce from the society.
Today all these evils have spread their feet and reached every house.
Is the truth of Dussehra only till the completion of these rituals? Or are there some victory resolutions also associated with this great festival?
These questions will keep burning like this. Hardly anyone’s mind is restless to get answers to them. Otherwise, the life of most of the people, after completing the rituals of Dussehra, will start rolling again on the same old pattern.
This is the ironic reality of our social life. Everyone is upset in their turmoil.
Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
Everyone is surrounded by their selfishness and their ego. In such a situation, who should take the risk of thinking on points of cultural, social and national importance?
If this is not our national and cultural pride, then what is more that almost all of us have completely forgotten the inspirations of the festivals told by our ancestors, sages and sages.
The cultural sensibilities enshrined in the festivals have withered by being trapped in the crooked array of our inertia. The courage and determination to understand and embrace the truth are probably being lost in all of us.
Whereas Vijayadashami is the great festival of this courage and determination. It contains great inspirations to awaken these two vital forces of life and to channelize them in the right direction.
This is the essence of all the mythological stories or folk traditions associated with this festival. The oldest story related to this festival is of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram.
Different great poets have worded the victory resolution of Lord Shri Ram in their way.
Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
It is said that that date was also Vijayadashami when Loknayak Shri Ram took the vow of a thunderbolt in the ashram of Maharishis.
And a few years later, after many twists in the events, that date was also Vijayadashami, when the capable lord had killed Ravana giving meaning to his resolve.
If we consider the description given in some folk tales and folk poetry to be inspirational, then Bhagwati Mahishamardini killed the demonic DARPA of Mahishasura on this date.
According to another folk poet, Mother Jagadamba with her various powers fought with the demonic forces of Shumbh-Nishumbha for nine days of Shardiya Navratri.
And finally, on the ninth-tenth day, by killing Nishumbha and Shumbh respectively, they saved the gods. Vijayadashami is a symbol of the same victory story of Mata Adishakti.
Those who only like the game of scrutinizing texts and estimating historical data, may not find these episodes of folk poetry to be history-true.
Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
But those who are in love with the truth of life will think about increasing their devotion and power by taking inspiration from these incidents.
There was a practice of celebrating this festival with pomp in ancient times among the Kshatriyas who worshipped Shakti. The medieval history of the country also gives sporadic evidence of this.
Behind the courage, determination, valour, brilliance and tenacity of the great majestic Rana Pratap, the great festival of Vijayadashami was the inspiration.
Vijayadashmi was always celebrated as the invincible heroic Chhatrapati Shivaji as a great festival of courage and determination.
Some of the memoirs of the tradition of this inspirational festival, which is becoming hazy and bleak, are also associated with the great revolutionaries Veer Ramprasad Bismil and Chandrashekhar Azad.
These revolutionaries used to celebrate this festival enthusiastically.
Chandrashekhar Azad had said that in all our festivals, the energy and intensity that is in Dussehra is not seen in any other festival.
Bismil used to say that Vijayadashami is a great festival of courage and determination, but keep in mind, courage should be used against terrorist barbarism, injustice, malpractice, corruption, not towards loved ones and virtue.
These words of Krantiveer Bismil are equally relevant even today. Our courage and determination have gone astray today. We are courageous, mighty, but not for innovation, but sabotage.
Similarly, we use the power of our resolves to spread ego frenzy and increase communal hatred. They work to dissolve the poison in the harmony and harmony of the country.
Dussehra: The festival of courage and determination
This time Vijayadashami has come as a resolution of victory for all of us. Let us all celebrate it together in this way.
Let each one of us take a courageous resolution to eradicate the evil tendencies of our individual and collectively, to fight against immorality and evil, to fight against terror and isolation.
It is in this resolution that the true significance of this great festival lies. According to this courageous resolution, only by living a fasting life, we will be able to prove that we are the true devotees of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, who gives the form of Mahaparv on Vijayadashami.
On this victory festival, if we can burn the evil tendencies of Ravana forever, then it should be understood that we celebrated Dussehra in the right way.
