Even today the corporation does not have a complete system of drainage for drainage from the city. In a little rain, many localities become rivers.

Due to the lack of timely cleaning of drains built decades ago, the people of the corporation area are troubled by the problem of drainage from the drain block.

It is to be known that even after 116 years of Municipality status in 1905, permanent drainage has not been arranged. Due to flooding in light rain, people of many wards are forced to travel with the help of boats made of tubes.

Even after getting the status of a corporation in 2011, five lakh people of the corporation area have not been able to get rid of waterlogging.

In the month of September also, the problem of waterlogging remains in the neighborhoods of half a dozen wards divided into 45 wards of the corporation.

Due to waterlogging in the city’s Orphanage Road, number two colony, the movement of people on the said road is closed.

Ward 9: In front of Mahantnagar Saraswati Shishu Mandir School, residents of the locality are troubled by the problem of knee-filled water logging due to rain and floodwater on the road.

The condition of the people remains hellish due to lack of attention even after complaining to the corporation administration.

The movement of people is hampered due to the accumulation of rainwater on the road leading to Ward 2 Bheria Rahika Shamsherganj.

The master plan needs to be implemented: Anil Chamaria, chairman of Red Cross Society, says that the problem of waterlogging in the corporation area is formidable.

To date, the people of the corporation area have to bear the brunt of not having proper drainage.

Even after paying tax, people are upset due to the non-availability of facilities in the Municipal Corporation.

He says that the city has a master plan, but due to non-work on it, the people of the corporation area are suffering from waterlogging.

There is a need to implement the master plan. To implement this by meeting with the intellectuals of the city.

Nala is higher than the road: Anil Chamaria said that the drain has been built but the drain is high, the road is low.

Due to which the water level is not able to go into the drain. It is to be known that under the ambitious project for a permanent solution for drainage in urban areas, the cabinet has already approved the construction of three outfalls at a cost of two billion and twenty crores.

Apart from this, better water management has to be ensured in the treatment of drainage and sewerage, then only the people of the city can get rid of the problem of waterlogging.
