Kishanganj. The police of Chakulia police station in Bengal have seized a large number of banned cough syrups from a line hotel located in Barodiha village on the Bihar-Bengal border.

During the action taken on Thursday night, Ajay Sah alias Mangal, a resident of Chudipatti Kishanganj, has been arrested along with the banned cough syrup seized from the container.

The value of the seized cough syrup is said to be around Rs 21 lakh. Islampur SP Sachin Makkar, while confirming the incident, said that the Chakulia police searched the container near a hotel on the Bihar-Bengal border, waiting for the line to clear.

During the search, 14,080 bottles of codeine-containing cough syrup were recovered from the container. The police arrested Ajay Sah, a resident of Chudipatti, a container rider.

After producing him in the Islampur Court, he was brought to justice.

Has been sent to jail in custody. After the arrest of Ajay, the Kishanganj police has also swung into action. While the market of discussion is hot in the city.

Local people said that a few days ago, Chakulia police of Bengal had also arrested Ajay Saha alias Mangal’s son Nitin with banned cough syrup.

Nitin is still lodged in Bengal jail since the incident. At present, the Bengal Police is interrogating the arrested accused. The police have also expressed the apprehension of smuggling Kuff Sirf in small consignments and sending them to Bangladesh.
